Attorney Joseph Gersten received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Forensic Sciences from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. While living in D.C., Mr. Gersten was employed with the United States Secret Service, Intelligence Division and the United States Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations.

 

After graduate school, Attorney Gersten received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Quinnipiac College School of Law. During law school Attorney Gersten clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office, The Honorable Alan Nevas, U.S. District Judge, and the Connecticut Trial Division of Nationwide Insurance.

Upon graduation from law school, Attorney Gersten joined Nationwide Insurance full-time as a Trial Attorney. Thereafter, Attorney Gersten joined O’Connell, Flaherty & Attmore, a whiteshoe Hartford, CT firm. During his tenure at O’Connell, Flaherty, Attorney Gersten practiced both state and federal criminal law, extensive business related law, civil plaintiff's and defendant's litigation, estate and asset protection, bankruptcy, and domestic and family law. Sometime later, Attorney Gersten joined the Allstate Insurance Company, as a Trial Attorney.

 

Eventually, after many, many jury trials with Allstate, Attorney Gersten left Connecticut for Las Vegas, Nevada. Here, Attorney Gersten concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal, business, civil, and family litigation. He also has a niche business advising elite poker players.

 

In his spare time, Attorney Gersten is an Adjunct Professor at UNLV lecturing on business and real estate law.
